Job summary

Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater Central, LLC. is seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician I in the Radiochemistry department at our South Bend, IN laboratory. The role entails sample handling, reagent prep, lab maintenance, and assisting staff with water quality extractions while adhering to QA/QC requirements.

Work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM with possible overtime. Prior lab experience is preferred; computer skills and English proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in English reading/writing/speaking.
• Microsoft Word skills.
• Prior laboratory experience preferred.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Weighing and pipetting support for analytical staff; preparation of reagents and standards; labeling and glass washing.
• Input data into corporate database.
• Document data clearly and accurately.
• Clean and maintain laboratory supplies, instruments, and work areas.
• Follow safety practices and company policies; participate in safe work execution.
• Duties as assigned.

Job Description

Eurofins Drinking Water and Wastewater Central, LLC. has a full-time Laboratory Technican I opening at our South Bend Laboratory in our Radiochemistry department. This is a full-time, hourly position averaging 40 hours per week.

This position will be responsible for sample handling, reagent preparations, laboratory maintenance and assisting staff with routine water quality extractions, adhering to department’s daily QA/QC requirements, as well as supporting other laboratory needs that may arise. The work schedule may require evenings and/or weekends and the candidate must be able to work overtime on short same-day notice. Previous experience in a laboratory environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support analytical staff with accurate weighing, pipetting skills, preparation of volumetric reagents and standards, labeling, and glass washing.
• Input of data into corporate database
• Clearly and accurately documenting data
• Cleaning and maintaining specific laboratory supplies, instruments and laboratory areas
• Following safe work practices and adhering to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
• Additional Duties as assigned

Role is M-F, 8am-5pm, with additional hours as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred, but not required; equivalent lab experience may substitute for a degree
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship

Ideal Candidates

• Will be self-motivated with an understanding of basic laboratory practices related to chemical and physical testing of water samples or applicable fields
• Will have excellent documentation and communication skills in Microsoft Word, Excel is preferred
• Will have previous lab experience
• Will have the ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment

Additional Information

The position is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM w/ possible overtime.

Compensation: $$18.60-$20.55 / hr (DOE).
