Job Description

Eurofins Environmental Testing Southwest is searching for a Sample Preparation Laboratory Technician I in Tustin, CA.

The role involves utilizing general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and SOPs. Responsibilities include weighing, digesting, and preparing soil and water samples for GC and GCMS analysis.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate backlog and prioritize daily workload based on required due dates and holding times.
• Retrieve samples from sample storage for preparation.
• Weigh and measure sample aliquots for preparation.
• Document required sample preparation details and observations.
• Prepare reagents and standards for daily use.
• Maintain laboratory equipment in accordance with the laboratory quality assurance program.
• Perform daily duties while adhering to the environmental health and safety policies.
• Wash laboratory glassware as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
• Communicate actively with department manager, analytical team, and project managers about job status, rush ETA, sample matrix issues, holding time, etc.
• Assist other areas of the laboratory as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• High school chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Compensation

Hourly: $18 – $22 (depending on experience and qualifications).

Position is full‑time with possible overtime and weekend work.

Shifts

Must be able to work one of the following updated shifts:

• Sunday – Thursday; 7 am – 4 pm
• Monday – Friday; 1 pm – 10 pm
• Sunday – Thursday; 3 pm – 12 am
• Monday – Friday; 6 am – 3 pm
• Wednesday – Sunday; 1 pm – 10 pm
