Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing in Memphis, TN is hiring a Laboratory Technician I. The role supports lab operations with general maintenance, sample handling, and basic prep using standard methods. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm, with overtime as needed; pay rate is $18/hr.

Education requirements include 2–4 year science coursework with a HS diploma or GED, plus basic lab experience. Strong English proficiency and adherence to QA SOPs are essential.

  • Basic chemistry coursework and laboratory experience are desired.
  • Ability to follow QA procedures and maintain Lab safety.

Responsibilities

Laboratory Technician I - Eurofins Environment Testing - Memphis, TN

The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
Performs sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a
combination of the following methods:

  • Spike and trace samples
  • Prepare reagents
  • Bottle samples
  • Prepare concentrations
  • Separation
  • Sonication
  • Microbiology work

Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
Stocks laboratory supplies.
Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
Builds bottle kits to provide to clients and assists other laboratory areas as needed.

Education/Experience (BMQ):
Education: 2 to 4 year degree in science preferred; HS diploma or GED required
Experience: Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ):

  • General knowledge of chemistry and/or general science
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task

  • Work within time constraints

Requirements:

  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English

Schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pmwith overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Memphis, TN are encouraged to apply.

Pay rate: $18/hr
