Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent; strong interest in life sciences.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Chemistry/Environmental Science with 0–2 years experience.
  • Experience: Prior lab or analytical setting experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Support scientific staff by performing routine lab tasks and maintaining equipment.
  • Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards (GLP compliant).
  • Accurately document all work and follow SOPs.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff and scientists; provide clear verbal and written updates.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness, organize supplies, and perform routine lab maintenance.
  • Assist with routine calibration and maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Receive training in GLPs, Radioactive Safety, USDA Regulated Soil, and SOPs.

Laboratory Technician I | Mount Olive, NJ

We’re seeking a detail-oriented and safety-focused Laboratory Technician I to support daily operations in a GLP-compliant lab. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for recent life sciences graduates or individuals with foundational lab experience to gain hands‑on exposure to environmental fate, metabolism, and analytical studies.

Pay & Schedule

  • Pay Rate: $20-22/hr

  • Schedule: Full-time, standard business hours (with potential for flexibility based on lab needs)

  • Location: Mount Olive, NJ 07828

The Role: What You’ll Do

As a Laboratory Technician I, you’ll support scientific staff by performing routine lab tasks, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

  • Lab Operations: Perform daily laboratory duties including weighing, sample extraction, separation, and concentration under the direction of scientific staff.

  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all laboratory safety practices, GLP regulations, and government guidelines.

  • Documentation: Accurately document all work performed and maintain compliance with SOPs.

  • Communication: Collaborate effectively with laboratory staff and scientists; provide clear verbal and written updates.

  • Lab Maintenance: Prepare routine solutions, wash glassware, organize supplies, and maintain overall lab cleanliness and functionality.

  • Equipment Support: Perform routine calibration and maintenance of lab equipment as needed.

  • Training: Receive required training in GLPs, Radioactive Safety, USDA Regulated Soil, and SOPs to support basic laboratory work.

Physical & Environmental Requirements

This is an active, on‑site lab role with routine physical demands.

  • Mobility: Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the lab frequently.

  • Lifting: Occasional lifting of lab materials and equipment (up to 25 lbs).

  • Environment: Work with hazardous chemicals and biological materials in a regulated laboratory setting.

Qualifications

We’re looking for candidates who meet one of the following:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent with a strong interest in life sciences.

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, etc.) with 0–2 years of experience.

  • Experience: Prior lab or analytical setting experience is a plus but not required.

Core Skills

  • Ability to follow SOPs, policies, and GLP regulations with precision.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Attention to experimental detail and ability to execute scientific procedures.

  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.).

  • Willingness to learn and become self‑sufficient in daily lab responsibilities.

  • Ability to perform routine equipment calibration and maintenance.
