Job summary

Eurofins Environment Testing America is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to support lab operations. You will perform sample preparation, reagent handling, and general maintenance of lab areas in accordance with QA programs.

Responsibilities include retrieving samples, preparing concentrations, labeling, and assisting other departments as needed. Requires 2–4 year science degree and basic lab experience.

Qualifications

  • Education: 2–4 year degree in science.
  • Chemistry coursework and basic lab experience.
  • General knowledge of chemistry and general science.
  • Good organizational and communication skills; problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.
  • Prepares reagents and sample aliquots; other prep tasks.
  • Resolves labeling discrepancies and tracks results.
  • Maintains lab paperwork: results, bench sheets, logbooks.
  • Washes glassware and stocks laboratory supplies.
  • Keeps work areas clean and safe; builds bottle kits.

Job Description

The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Retrieves samples from Sample Control for analysis.

Performs sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:

  • Aliquot samples
  • Spike and trace samples
  • Prepare reagents
  • Bottle samples
  • Prepare concentrations
  • Separation
  • Sonication
  • Liquid rack set up
  • Microbiology work

Resolves discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.

Prepares general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.

Washes laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.

Stocks laboratory supplies.

Cleans work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.

Builds bottle kits to provide to clients and assists other laboratory areas as needed.

Qualifications
Education/Experience (BMQ)

Education: 2 to 4 year degree in science

Experience: Chemistry coursework, basic laboratory experience

Ability and/or Skills (BMQ)
