Job summary

Superior Energy Services seeks a Laboratory Technician 2 for its Houston, TX office to support testing of downhole completion tools. You will assemble prototype equipment, perform high-pressure testing, and document results while coordinating with design engineers and test lab staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 3–8 years of related testing experience, with packer and pipe-fitting experience considered a plus; some night shifts may be required.

Responsibilities

• Attend safety meetings and participate in Job Safety Analysis.
• Assemble prototype equipment per engineers and drawings.
• Conduct high pressure hydrostatic and nitrogen testing.
• Initiate and maintain Data Acquisition test information on the PC.
• Interface with Design Engineering and Supervisor Test Lab to plan tests.
• Familiar with core product line and maintain a neat work area.
• Maintain crane and other equipment maintenance schedules.
• Occasionally work night shift.

Superior Completions is currently seeking a Laboratory Technician 2 for our office in Houston, TX.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Attend all safety meetings and participate in writing of Job Safety Analysis’.
• Assembly of prototype equipment as directed by engineers and engineering drawings.
• Conduct high pressure hydrostatic and nitrogen testing.
• Initiate and maintain Data Acquisition test information on the P.C.
• Interface with Design Engineering and Supervisor Test Lab to plan and organize tests and projects.
• Familiar with core product line.
• Maintain a neat work area.
• Maintain maintenance schedules on cranes and other equipment.
• Occasionally work night shift.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required,
• A minimum of three (3) to Eight (8) years in testing prototype downhole completion tools and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Packer experience a plus.
• High Pressure pipe fitting experience helpful.
