ALS Environmental seeks casual Laboratory Technicians to join the Smithfield team. You will support accurate and efficient testing by performing sample analysis in line with quality standards.

Responsibilities include identifying anomalies, organizing daily tasks, calibrating equipment, managing consumables, and maintaining a clean, safe lab. The role offers two casual opportunities with shifts varying to business needs, requiring education in science and strong attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct extraction procedures and QA/QC compliant analyses.
• Organise daily tasks to meet deadlines.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Manage consumables and housekeeping.
• Report anomalies to Supervisor and escalate issues.
• Perform calculations for analyses and ensure safety compliance.
• Follow ALS quality procedures and safety policies.

About the Role

ALS Environmental are seeking casual Laboratory Technician's to join our Smithfield team.

You will support accurate and efficient laboratory testing by performing sample analysis in accordance with quality standards. Key duties include identifying sample anomalies, organising daily tasks to meet deadlines, calibrating and maintaining equipment, managing consumables, maintaining a clean and sterile work area, and completing required calculations.

We have two casual opportunities available, with shifts varying in line with business needs.

The Day to Day

• Conduct extraction procedures and tasks per ALS Quality Work Instructions, ensuring QA/QC compliance.
• Organize tasks for daily efficiency and meet set timelines and standards.
• Report anomalies in results or samples to Supervisor.
• Maintain housekeeping, calibrate equipment, and perform calculations for analyses.
• Manage consumable stock and assist with additional duties.
• Use calibrated equipment and follow ALS quality procedures.
• Comply with ALS HSE policies, state OHS legislation, and safety manual.
• Ensure lab safety, report compliance issues, and promote safety culture.

The Essentials

• Tertiary education (a degree or diploma in science, preferably chemistry).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Positive attitude to safety requirements.
• Appropriate level of aptitude on the tests allocated.
• This role requires standing/moving around the lab and the ability to lift/ carry up to 15kg.
