Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Laboratory Technician/Laboratory Analyst/Analytical Chemist for their Seattle, WA onsite team. The role focuses on QA testing of fluids and lubricants and qualification testing of new tools and processes.

Maintain a clean, compliant lab, prepare reagents and standards, and support root-cause analysis of failures. Candidates should have a chemistry degree and hands-on experience with analytical instruments such as XRF, FTIR, pH meters, titration, GC or GC-MS, and MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
• Experience operating analytical test equipment (XRF, FTIR, pH meters, titration, GC and GC/MS).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

Responsibilities

• Performs QA testing of fluids and lubricants.
• Performs tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes.
• Makes sure the lab meets 5S and SOP requirements.
• Prepares reagents and standards to calibrate instruments.
• Supports complex analysis of failed parts and documents results.
• Supports revision of procedures and specifications.

Laboratory Technician/Laboratory Analyst/Analytical Chemist

Seattle, WA – Onsite

Position responsibilities

• Performs quality assurance (QA) testing of fluids and lubricants.
• Performs tests to qualify new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes to meet requirements.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment including implementation of 5S requirements and laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare laboratory reagents and standards used to calibrate and/or verify instrument performance.
• Supports, coordinates, and conducts complex analysis of failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures. Generates test plans, identifies, and categorizes failure, determines root cause and documents results and recommendations.
• Supports the proposal, development, and validation of revisions to procedures and specifications.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry
• Laboratory experience operating analytical test equipment including XRF, FTIR, pH meters, Automated Titrators and/or manual Titration practices, GC and or GC/MS.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Power Point, Excel, and Word)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

• Experience documenting and clearly communicating test results to customers.
• Experience performing laboratory testing to standards (i.e. ASTM, SAE).
• Experience interacting with customers to coordinate testing requirements and schedule.
