Job summary

Geotemps, Inc. seeks a Laboratory Technician to collect, prepare, and analyze samples in a mining/manufacturing environment. You will operate and maintain lab equipment, log samples, and support QC reporting.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, math/chemistry/computer skills, and the ability to work flexible hours including overtime. Transportation to the jobsite is needed.

Responsibilities

• Collect samples, including from rail cars or trucks in various locations.
• Prepare samples for analysis using established testing techniques.
• Assist with routine chemical and metallurgical analyses and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
• Relieve and log in samples.
• Micronize and mount samples for XRD analyses.
• Weigh and dry samples; mount and scan for NIR analyses.
• Prepare samples for CAC analyses and conduct particle size analyses on daily production samples.

JOB DUTIES

• Collecting samples, including collection from rail cars or trucks in somelocations
• Preparing samples for analysis using established testing andtechniques
• Assisting with and/or performing routine chemical and/or metallurgical analysis andreporting
• Maintaining laboratory instrumentation andequipment
• Relieve & log insamples
• Micronize and mount Samples for XRD analyses

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma orGED

• Must have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite
• Must have availability to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overtime asrequested
• Must have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and inwriting

ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.

Personal protective equipmentis required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, reflective vest, hearing protection, work gloves, respirator, long-sleeved shirt and any other PPE as needed.
