Job summary

Synectics Inc. in Minneapolis, MN seeks a Laboratory Technician to support molecular biology and fermentation R&D teams with day-to-day lab tasks.

You will prepare media and plates, restock supplies, clean and sterilize glassware, and handle waste autoclaving while learning equipment functions; weekend sampling may be required.

This role requires basic math, sterile technique, and the ability to work with minimal supervision on first shift (7:00–17:30).

Job Description

• The Laboratory Technician will conduct day to day tasks supporting a molecular biology and fermentations R&D teams.
• Once trained, the technician will be expected to keep up with daily activities which will include, along with other general support duties, media and plate preparation, restocking of lab supplies, cleaning and sterilization of glassware, collecting and autoclaving waste, and maintaining the lab support areas of the lab.
• Technicians will also perform standard upkeep and cleaning protocols on multiple pieces of scientific equipment and become familiar with their general function.
• This position will include some rotational weekend work, typically collecting samples for other scientists.

Qualification

• Have some lab experience and a good understanding of sterile techniques and excellent biosafety behaviors.
• Have good basic math skills and an ability to operate day to day under minimal direct supervision.
• Schedule:1st Shift ; Flexible time - 8 hours between 7 AM - 5.30 PM.Monday - Fri with potential weekends
