A Day in the Life

Bunge in Council Bluffs is a soybean crush and refining operation. The Lab Technician will work to ensure that quality specifications are met.

Position Details

This role will work a 12 hour shift, 7-7. This is a rotating schedule & will work day & night shift.

Hourly starting pay: $27.73

What You'll Be Doing
  • Actively participate in our Employee Safety Involvement plan
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees
  • Perform all applicable analytical tests on raw ingredients, in-process, and finished products
  • Perform data entry of analysis into various QA databases
  • Assist in identifying and managing HOLD products
  • Identify quality and procedure deviations; effectively report such deviations and provide accurate information in a timely manner and as needed
  • Prepare testing solutions, equipment calibrations, general maintenance and upkeep of laboratory
  • Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
Skills/Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED Required
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in processing or manufacturing environment
  • Work experience in a laboratory environment is preferred
  • General knowledge of production processes, food lab instrumentation, and laboratory test methods preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Sound decision and teamwork skills are essential.
  • Computer skills, including experience with Word and Excel is preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Organizational skills are a must
  • Ability to follow written procedures and established test methods
  • Must be able to proficiently read and write in English for the purposes of record keeping and safety and quality training processes.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to perform office and data entry work
