Job summary

Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, Inc. seeks a Laboratory Technician to perform ongoing testing to ensure production quality (mechanical and visual) and to support the Technology group or Quality Leader.

The role involves standard molding/testing, PMs and calibrations, and maintaining a tour-ready laboratory while adhering to lean, ethical and regulatory requirements such as IATF 16949, ISO 17025, and ISO 14001.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School education with 0–2 years of experience.
• Preferred: Polymer or Manufacturing related Associates Degree and 2–5 years experience in the plastics industry - laboratory focus.
• Proficiency with MS Office and SAP is expected.

Responsibilities

• Conduct standard molding and testing as called out on work packets and Technical Work Requests.
• Perform assigned PMs and calibrations.
• Keep the laboratory in a tour-ready condition.
• Follow all standard laboratory work instructions and test methods.
• Ensure all activities comply with lean, ethical and regulatory requirements including IATF 16949 / ISO 17025 / ISO 14001.
• Promote a safe work environment for self and others.
• Take initiative to resolve issues before they become problems.
• Seek continuous improvement through periodic assessments.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Licensures, and Certifications)

• Minimum: High School education and 0-2 years appropriate experience at APNA
• Preferred: Polymer or Manufacturing related Associates Degree and 2-5 years experience in the plastics industry - laboratory focus.
