Job summary

Sterling Pharma Solutions Limited is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician to assist in a fast-paced lab. You will perform glassware washing, lab housekeeping, and supply stocking while supporting analysts and maintaining a clean, compliant environment.

The role is Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm, with up to 5% travel. A strong emphasis on teamwork, accuracy, and adherence to cGMP and company training is required.

Qualifications

  • Must have basic GMP/GLP knowledge or willingness to learn.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting is required or preferred.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks with lab staff.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist lab staff with glassware washing and handling.
  • Keep glass washing areas clean and stocked.
  • Help remove pharmaceutical waste and monitor expired materials.
  • Support analysts with material gathering and labeling.
  • Ensure lab stations are clean, organized and compliant with training.

Job description

Laboratory Support Technician

Summary of Role
The Laboratory Support Technician is accountable for driving results in a fast-paced environment by assisting the laboratory staff with a wide range of tasks including laboratory housekeeping, glassware washing, equipment setup and stocking supplies. The position requires execution of the Sterling Values and non-negotiables, as well as expertise in functional competencies included in this position profile.

This role works Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

Essential Functions

  • Removes dirty and/or broken glassware from the lab areas.
  • Washes and dries glassware and distributes to appropriate locations in the laboratories.
  • Maintains glass washing areas, keeping them clean and organized.
  • Removes pharmaceutical waste from the laboratories.
  • Performs monthly checks for expired chemicals and reagents and coordinates timely removal of expired materials.
  • Performs daily verification of analytical balance calibrations.
  • Assists analysts with tasks such as gathering materials, labelling glassware, preparing solutions, disposing of solutions, etc.
  • Ensures lab stations are clean, organized and properly stocked with supplies.
  • Ensures timely completion and compliance with cGMP and all other relevant company training requirements.

Key Competencies

  • Basic knowledge of GMPs or GLPs is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of a laboratory environment is required.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and interact with laboratory staff.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Works well in a team setting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in a laboratory setting; OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Microbiology or other related field and 0-1+ year in a laboratory setting.

Travel Requirement

  • Up to 5% travel required.
