SUMMARY

The laboratory support technician provides support to laboratory staff. This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects on a daily basis; primarily focused on ensuring the laboratory operates efficiently.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Reports to: Supervisor

Supervises: Has no supervisory responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support day to day functions of laboratory
  • Preparation of various media using filter or steam sterilization techniques learned through on-the-job training.
  • Preparing, cleaning, and sterilization of glassware and equipment used in various procedures.
  • Concurrent record keeping related to all pertinent documentation
  • Communicate with various departments within the lab
  • Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Eager to learn and work with various departments in the company
  • Ability to multitask
  • Must cope well under pressure
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
