Job summary

University Hospitals Pain Management is seeking a dedicated Specimen Processor/Phlebotomist to support laboratory operations in Cleveland, OH. The role focuses on specimen handling, processing, and contributing to a high-standard turnaround time. A career ladder with title and pay advancement based on education and experience is noted.

You will organize tasks, perform data entry, sterile techniques, and handling of specialized samples, while maintaining accuracy and PHI safeguards.

Qualifications

• Experience handling specimens and phlebotomy procedures.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow laboratory protocols.
• Familiarity with data entry in a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and performs tasks efficiently to meet departmental turnaround time standards.
• Performs computer data entry, laboratory processes including sterile technique, aliquoting and/or phlebotomy.
• Processes specimens for laboratory testing.
• Competent in the collection or processing of specialized samples.
• Performs with minimal error rate.
• Acts as a trainer and is a resource to other Specimen Processor Phlebotomists.
• Needs minimal supervision and problems solves with little or no supervision.

Performs specimen procurement and/or processing of laboratory specimens. Provides laboratory support functions.
