Summary The MAC Supervisor maintains the high quality of laboratory functions by coordinating and overseeing the technical activities of the clinical lab sections to ensure that quality standards are consistently maintained in the areas of hematology, chemistry, specimen processing, and blood bank. This role includes Supervision and management of approximately 4 employees working as laboratory generalists. (Direct reports) Maintaining adherence to the quality control program, proficiency testing, competency testing, meeting all regulatory requirements (CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, etc.), instrument maintenance and coordination of inventory management. Other duties include review of billing, cost accounting, productivity management, coordination on the maintenance and testing of the LIS system related to the clinical lab sections, and other duties as assigned by manager or director. The supervisor is also required to work as a bench technologist as workload requires.
Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates a comprehensive and thorough understanding of scientific principles and theory as they apply to laboratory testing in the areas of Chemistry, Hematology, and limited areas of Microbiology. Demonstrates the technical knowledge to perform and troubleshoot all procedures within the department. Demonstrates basic understanding of laboratory main frame computer system and ability to utilize system as a management tool, ie: quality control, workload, and productivity. Demonstrates sound understanding of quality control and survey concepts and ability to analyze data and implement corrective action Demonstrates a comprehensive and thorough understanding of scientific principles and theory as they apply to laboratory testing in the areas of Chemistry, Hematology, Blood Bank, and limited areas of Microbiology. Demonstrates the technical knowledge to perform and troubleshoot all procedures within the department. Personnel management Participates in the hiring of new staff. Monitors employee performance and evaluates personnel in accordance with departmental performance standards. Counsels employees as appropriate in a timely and professional manner. Uses good judgment in the recruitment and selection of employees. Provides training and orientation for new staff. Oversees new employee training to ensure staff are competent in all areas of clinical laboratory testing. Ensures that all employees complete all mandatory laboratory and hospital programs.

Salary Range $93,641.60 - $142,937.60 Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role.
