Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical lab science or related field is required.
• Certifications: ASCP or AMT Clinical Lab Scientist/Medical Technologist or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily staff activities for an assigned area or function.
• Provide direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff; participate in performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assess and ensure quality of services; ensure staff compliance with policies and procedures.
• Perform staff responsibilities as needed to meet service levels.
• Handle and resolve complex issues and complaints.
• Lead others performing similar work, set priorities and schedules as needed.

How You'll Contribute

A Laboratory Supervisor who excels in this role supervises daily staff activities for an assigned area or function. Additional duties include:

• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
• Handles and resolves complex issues and complaints.
• Leads the work of others who perform essentially the same work. May set priorities, schedule and review work, but has no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance and/or make pay decisions.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in medical lab science or a related field. Additional requirements include:
