Job summary

The University at Buffalo seeks a Research Technician in Microbiology and Immunology to perform routine experiments under supervision, including tissue culture, PCR, DNA extraction, microscopy, and animal work.

The role involves recording results, maintaining equipment, assisting postdocs and students, handling mice, and participating in cellular/molecular biology assays, as well as lab stock management and ordering.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and at least one year of laboratory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in science preferred; familiarity with basic laboratory techniques.

Responsibilities

• Record test results and maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
• Provide technical assistance to postdocs and graduate students and other research staff.
• Assist in small animal (mouse) handling and surgeries and participate in cellular and molecular biology assays.
• Manage and care for the animal colony and place orders based on lab needs.
