Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) is seeking an Academic Laboratory Assistant to prepare supplies and equipment for science labs across multiple courses. The role supports the lab staff, maintains safety and cleanliness, and helps with clerical tasks such as greeting students and distributing lab kits each semester.

The position requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with some knowledge of lab safety preferred. Rate of pay is $14.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the organization and administration of higher education academic and social programs.
• Knowledge of campus resources and applicable rules and requirements.
• Ability to coordinate activities within campus programs.
• Ability to compile information into report form and evaluate data.
• Some knowledge of laboratory safety is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare supplies and laboratory equipment for Chemistry, Biology, Botany, Geology, Microbiology, and Anatomy and Physiology classes.
• Maintain a safe working environment and report safety hazards per procedures.
• Clean classrooms and laboratories; wash and maintain lab glassware and equipment.
• Assist with clerical duties, greet students, answer phones, and distribute lab kits each semester.
