Description:This is a night shift position.The Laboratory Technologist (MLT or MT) works under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager.They are responsible for performing laboratory tests and accurately reporting results to the physician.These results are used in the diagnosis, treatment, and/or monitoring of diseases.The technologist also assists in the general operation of the laboratory.They participate in quality assurance programs and maintenance of laboratory equipment.Independent judgment and professional education are essential.After satisfactory completion of probation, the Laboratory Technologist serves as a general supervisor for waived, moderate, and high complexity testing.Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology is required.Strong skills in both verbal and written communication are necessary.This position may require holiday coverage.
