Job summary

Medlinkhealth Anesthesia Associates in Mount Pleasant, MI, is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to provide laboratory testing and analysis to support diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Shift times are 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, and you will follow accreditation, QA/QI, and safety standards.

Responsibilities include performing chemical analyses of blood, urine, CSF, and other body fluids; hematology testing; blood typing and transfusion support; processing and interpreting

Qualifications

• MLS with 1+ year of clinical experience.
• ASCP certification required.
• BLS through AHA required.

• Perform hematology testing, including counting and identifying blood cells.
• Conduct blood typing, grouping, and compatibility testing for transfusions.
• Process and interpret cultures and antibiotic sensitivities.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers.
• Maintain laboratory supplies and inventory.
• Prepare and report laboratory findings accurately.
• Follow QA/QI, infection control and safety standards.
• Identify problems, troubleshoot issues and implement solutions when appropriate.
• Assist with orientation and training of new employees.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
