Job summary

ARMStaffing in Binghamton, NY is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist for a 13-week contract assignment in the hospital laboratory. You will perform routine and specialized tests, monitor processes, verify results, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include documenting quality control results, posting LIS data, obtaining specimens, training new staff, evaluating new methods, and acting as supervisor in their absence to resolve staffing issues.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience preferred.
• Up to three (3) years of direct experience required.
• New York State Licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• BLS Certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross).

• Document and interpret quality control results, troubleshooting issues as necessary and consulting with supervisors when needed.
• Verify and post results in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and ensure proper documentation.
• Obtain specimens directly from patients and select appropriate equipment for testing.
• Participate in the training of new employees and students.
• Evaluate new testing methods and procedures.
• Act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the supervisor for staff management and problem resolution.
