Job summary

Zohorecruit is seeking a Lab Director in Wheeling, WV to oversee laboratory operations, quality, staff development, and regulatory compliance. The role combines advanced medical laboratory expertise with leadership responsibilities to ensure accurate, efficient, and high-quality services.

The candidate will manage testing procedures, QA/QC programs, equipment performance, and staff development while maintaining compliance with state licensure and continuing education requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, MLS, or related field.
• Current MT/MLS certification via ASCP or AMT.
• Current state license/credential where applicable (WV HCTP for WV).
• Minimum 5 years lab experience with 3 years in supervisory/management roles.

Responsibilities

• Oversee diagnostic services, specimen prep, testing and reporting.
• Develop and implement QA/QC and troubleshooting procedures.
• Ensure equipment meets performance/quality standards and schedule maintenance.
• Manage budgeting and justify operational needs.
• Lead staff training, orientation, and competency development.
• Collaborate with pathologists and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain LIS and data security; ensure regulatory compliance.
