Job summary

Qualifications

  • Skilled creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Experience with RNA/DNA/protein extraction, ELISA, RTPCR, Western blot, and immunohistochemistry.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and maintain laboratory documents.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, including scheduled maintenance and calibration procedures.
  • Receive NIH specific training on laboratory safety and waste and conduct laboratory safety and waste in accordance to NIH policies for the lab.
  • Organize, monitor and prepare purchase requests for NIH approval through data entry in the POTS system.
  • Carry out laboratory procedures according to SOPs and GLP.
  • Assist with the production and updating of laboratory SOPs.
  • Coordinate work and staff to ensure all needs, expectations and timelines are met.
  • Provide guidance and mentor new laboratory members in the correct use of equipment and NIH required training.
  • Carry out experiments and record observations; maintain records; summarize results; participate in laboratory meetings.
  • Perform mouse handling, injections, euthanasia and maintain the mouse colony.
  • Maintain cell culture.
  • Carry out molecular biology techniques such as RNA/DNA/protein extraction, ELISA, RT-PCR, Western blot, and immunohistochemistry.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Collect and maintain laboratory documents
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, including scheduled maintenance and calibration procedures; request service for lab equipment if not functioning properly 1

Basic Qualifications
