Job summary

Lenzing Fibers Inc. is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead daily lab operations, ensuring quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, and supporting production, customer requirements, and on-time shipments.

You will manage personnel, testing programs, COAs, SOPs, and lab safety, while driving QC/QA, investigations, and audits, collaborating with production, quality, and engineering to deliver reliable results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related scientific field.
  • 8+ years of experience in quality and lab management, including 5+ years in chemical laboratory environments within manufacturing, industrial, environmental, or quality control operations.
  • Experience with quality management systems and laboratory accreditation standards preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and lab data systems.
  • Flexible, organized, and able to thrive in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate laboratory personnel to ensure timely completion of testing, grading, fiber release, and environmental testing and reporting activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, laboratory procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Lead laboratory quality programs including QC/QA and continuous improvement.
  • Review and approve laboratory test results and reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Grade and release fiber bales and ensure accurate Certificates of Analysis (COAs) for shipments.
  • Maintain laboratory capabilities through technician training, equipment maintenance and calibration, and supply management of laboratory supplies, chemicals, and consumables.
  • Develop and maintain laboratory standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Lead investigations related to laboratory and testing discrepancies, out-of-specification results, and customer feedback.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate laboratory staff to support employee development, competency, and performance.
  • Schedule workloads and resources to meet production and customer requirements
  • Promote and enforce a safe work environment, including compliance with ISO 9000 standards, OSHA and environmental regulations as well as participate in internal and external audits.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and management teams to support business objectives.
  • Summarize laboratory performance and trends, providing timely reports and recommendations to management as needed.
  • Perform laboratory testing as needed and provide backup coverage during technician absences.

Lenzing Fibers Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Laboratory Manager to lead the daily operations of our laboratory. The Laboratory Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with quality, environmental, and safety standards. This role manages laboratory personnel, testing programs and activities, fiber grading and release, and laboratory equipment to support production, customer requirements, and on‑time shipments. The Laboratory Manager plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable laboratory results while promoting a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Our expectations for this exciting role:

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related scientific field required.

8+ years of experience in quality and lab management, including 5+ years in chemical laboratory environments within manufacturing, industrial, environmental, or quality control operations

Experience with quality management systems and laboratory accreditation standards preferred

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
