Job summary

StoneSprings Hospital Center, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead a clinical laboratory team and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards. The role requires MT certification, a bachelor’s degree, and at least 3 years of supervisory experience in a hospital lab.

The position emphasizes quality improvement, data reporting, and responding to customer feedback to enhance lab services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Medical Technology or related field required
• Master’s degree preferred
• National Certification as Medical Technologist required
• 3+ years supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory
• 3+ years progressive laboratory management experience
• Hospitial clinical laboratory experience preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination per regulations unless exempted

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor employees, departmental performance and staff development to ensure adherence to policies, timelines and regulatory requirements
• Develop monitoring systems for collection, documentation and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data
• Evaluate existing systems and processes and develop corrective action plans for service/quality trends
• Ensure departments respond to customer feedback and implement improvements in laboratory services

In this role, you will:

• Lead and monitor employees, departmental performance and staff development to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines and regulatory requirements
• Develop monitoring systems for the collection, documentation and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data; extracts pertinent information from quality assessment and improvement studies, initiates corrective action plans, and re-monitors results
• Evaluate existing systems and processes and develops corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified Initiates changes and monitors for improvement
• Ensure departments proactively respond to feedback from customers (internal and external) and implements improvement mechanisms to enhance the overall ability of the department to meet the customer’s needs for laboratory services

You should have:

• Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry required.
• Master’s Degree preferred
• 3+ years’ experience at a supervisory level in a clinical laboratory setting
• National Certification as a Medical Technologist required
• 3 + years of progressive laboratory management experience is required with complex laboratory operations
• Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred
