Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital seeks a Laboratory Coordinator for FSER to provide expertise in quality assurance, proficiency testing, and regulatory compliance within the lab team.

You will review QA data, maintain records, monitor licensure, assist with renewals, and act as a resource on point-of-care testing and regulatory affairs, supporting patient care through accurate lab results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Medical Technology or equivalent.
• State of Florida Supervisor License or ability to obtain during interview process.
• Supervisor licenses in relevant areas (Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Chemistry or Hematology, Microbiology, Serology).
• 3–5 years of experience as a Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Review proficiency testing, QA data, and develop corrective actions with departments.
• Complete all records for quality assurance and point-of-care testing.
• Demonstrate good judgment in correlating and interpreting patient results.
• Monitor licensure status and assist in preparing licensure/renewal paperwork (CAP, CLIA, AHCA).
• Prepare annual assessment of QC, QA, and regulatory performance; review data and action plans.
• Serve as a resource on point-of-care testing, QC, QA, and regulatory affairs.

Florida Supervisor License

Supervisor license in Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Chemistry or Hematology, Microbiology, & Serology

3-5 years of Medical Technologist experience

Shift time: Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with occasional weekends and late shifts as needed.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking a Laboratory Coordinator for our FSER to provide expertise and champion results. We are an amazing team that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you who feels the patient experience is as meaningful as we do.

You Will:

• Review proficiency testing and/or quality assurance and performance data and results and works with FSEDs and facility POC departments to develop corrective action plans, where indicated
• Consistently complete all required records/documentation pertaining to quality assurance and/or point-of-care testing records
• Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results
• Monitor accreditation agency licensure status and assists department director in preparing licensure and renewal paperwork (CAP, CLIA, AHCA, business license)
• Prepare annual assessment of Quality Control, Quality Assurance and Regulatory performance for assigned division. Assists Division Administrative and Medical Directors in reviewing performance data and identifying corrective actions
• Act as a resource regarding point-of-care testing, quality control, quality assurance and regulatory affairs

You Should Have:

• A 4-Year/Bachelor Degree in Medical Technology
• A State of Florida Supervisor License OR the ability to obtain a license during the interview process
• Supervisor license in Blood Bank/Immunohematology, Chemistry or Hematology, Microbiology, & Serology
• 3-5 years of previous experience as a Medical Technologist
