Job Title: Laboratory Associate, Process Development

Location: Santa Monica, CA

Duration: 12 months

Pay: $37-40 per hour

Position Summary:

Reporting to a Sr. Scientist. Supporting execution of process development activities including, run execution, media preparation, reagent monitoring, equipment monitoring/cleaning/calibration, serving as a floating support between SMEs during high volume activities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assist process development study leads in the set up and execution of process runs

• Formulate media for use in process runs

• Perform cell counts using NC-200 Nucleocounter

• Assist in the set up and run execution of equipment e.g. Prodigy, LOVO, Xenon Electroporator

• Assist with the input of data into electronic laboratory notebook

• Maintain accurate records of data, safeguarding the confidentiality of subjects, as necessary

• Request or acquire equipment or supplies necessary for the project

• Monitor the project reagents and materials

• Manage and respond to project related emails

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in the biological sciences (or experience in biology research)

• 1-2 years of experience post degree.

• Ability to work as part of a team and complete experiments, analyze data and provide results to end-users in a timely fashion is required.

• 1-2 years of sterile tissue culture experience preferred

• Cell culture and molecular biology skills are required

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail

• Excellent organizational skills

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment

• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in the biological sciences (or experience in biology research)
