Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s St. Elizabeth Hospital in Fort Morgan, CO seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support specimen processing, intake, and clerical tasks within the laboratory. The role may include blood collection and processing, with potential for modest testing under regulatory guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • BLS-CPR certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
  • Lab Assistant Program certification preferred.
  • Phlebotomy program certificate preferred.
  • Up to 6 months of acute care facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with specimen management, intake, and clerical duties.
  • Perform blood collection and specimen processing as needed.
  • Possibly conduct waived or moderately complex testing as permitted by regulations.
  • Identify patients accurately and maintain department workflow.
  • Support all team members to ensure efficient operations and safety in the lab.
