Pride Health is hiring a Lab Assistant to support a client in Gaithersburg, MD. This is a contract role with a possible extension opportunity, offering a start into a top-tier healthcare organization.

Location is Gaithersburg, MD with a 3rd shift (Tuesday–Saturday, 12:00am–8:30am) and a rotating Sunday. Pay range is $24–$26 per hour, contract duration 3+ months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical assistant training required.
• Math and science coursework completed.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Receive, sort, and prepare specimens for testing.
• Perform specimen processing, aliquoting, slide preparation, and inoculation.
• Operate laboratory computer systems and maintain records.
• Conduct routine instrument maintenance and QA/QC activities.
• Resolve pending lists and locate missing samples.
• Prepare reagents and media as needed.
• Store, retrieve, and document specimens and temperature logs.
• Decontaminate work areas and dispose of biohazardous materials.
• Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests.
• Change gas cylinders and follow all PPE and safety requirements.
• Complete required training and competency assessments.
