Responsibilities

  • Completes culture setup of microbiology samples and gram stain preparation when staffed in Microbiology department.
  • Performs phlebotomy to ensure accurate and timely processing of lab test orders.
  • Provides laboratory customer service including add-ons, specimen collection information, phlebotomy requests, and result inquiries.
  • Performs clerical duties and maintains equipment and stock of supplies.
  • Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing and transporting specimens.
  • Assists in preparation/processing of bone marrow specimens.
  • Supports technologists by loading/maintaining instruments, preparing reagents, and managing blood products.
