Knowledge of laboratory tests, laboratory ordering processes, and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the health care industry. [Required]
Ability to process laboratory specimens with appropriate use of hospital and laboratory information systems. [Required]
Ability to evaluate collected specimens for volume, collection containers, and related measures. [Required]
Ability to accession specimens, evaluate samples for proper submission, and document issues. [Required]
Ability to manage laboratory assistants and serve as a staff resource. [Required]
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask. [Required]
Ability and willingness to work independently as well as in a team environment. [Required]
Ability and willingness to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, etc. [Required]
Ability and willingness to adapt to change. [Required]
Phlebotomy both venipuncture and capillary collections. [Required]
Demonstrated technical skills and aptitudes related to blood collection. [Required]
Minimum typing skills of 30 wpm preferred. [Required]
High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
Completion of a phlebotomy training program [Preferred]
1+ year of experience in AdventHealth Lab [Preferred]
1+ year of relevant healthcare experience [Required]
