Qualifications

• 2+ years of laboratory experience in a research or academic setting.
• 1+ year of experience maintaining insect or ectoparasite colonies in a vivarium/insectary.
• Experience with aseptic technique.
• Fluency in English.
• Attention to detail, reliability, communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily insect/ectoparasite rearing and husbandry activities.
• Support parasitology research through reagent preparation, cleaning, stocking, and assay activities.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and maintenance schedules.
• Receive, store, and dispose of laboratory materials according to procedures.
• Work independently while following safety, regulatory, and Good Scientific Practice standards.
• Learn and operate basic laboratory automation equipment and software.

Laboratory Technician – Parasitology Research

Support daily laboratory operations Parasitology Research team, including insect rearing, lab maintenance, and drug screening activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily insect/ectoparasite rearing and husbandry activities.
• Support parasitology research through reagent preparation, cleaning, stocking, and assay activities.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and maintenance schedules.
• Receive, store, and dispose of laboratory materials according to procedures.

Requirements:

• College coursework in Biology or equivalent. MS or PhD candidates will not be considered.
• 2+ years of laboratory experience in a research or academic setting.
• 1+ year of experience maintaining insect or ectoparasite colonies in a vivarium/insectary.
• Experience with aseptic technique.
• Strong attention to detail, reliability, communication, and teamwork.
• Fluency in English.
