  • Coordinates and participates in specimen collections and prepares specimens for testing.
  • Dispatches specimens to section or referral laboratories and processes requests.
  • Receives, disseminates requests, specimens, reports, and test results as indicated.
  • Performs phlebotomies when assigned.

Job Description

Laboratory Assistant at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. This position is Full-time and will work 8-hour, Evening shifts.

Performs some or all of the following duties in one or more laboratory sections: Coordinates and participates in specimen collections, prepares specimens for testing, dispatches specimens to section or referral laboratories, and receives, processes, and disseminates requests, specimens, reports, and test results as indicated. Receives and gives testing information; prepares reagents and media; performs phlebotomies, when assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1 year Office work experience.
  • 1 year Laboratory experience.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
