Job Summary:

The Laboratory Assistant performs operational work in a teaching or research lab, requiring delicate manual and manipulative skills in a limited range of tasks. A thorough understanding of the principles involved is not required. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum one year of laboratory experience preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Able to read, write legibly, and speak in English with professional quality.
• Proficient in using computers, printers, and software programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Operate and troubleshoot basic office equipment.
• Communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
• Work calmly under pressure and respond courteously.

• Communicate effectively via telephone.
