Lifepoint Health’s Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center seeks a Lab Assistant to support accurate diagnostic testing and specimen handling in a hospital setting. You will perform waived and moderately complex tests under supervision, manage sample labeling, and assist in data entry and lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs department specific waived and moderately complex testing under supervision.
• Orders, process, test, issue, deliver, and discard products under supervision.
• Responsible for routine computer operations including ordering tests, data input, and specimen receipt.
• Accurately identifies and labels specimens.
• Performs preventative and daily equipment maintenance and temperature checks.
• Draws venous, arterial, capillary samples according to phlebotomy procedures.

Schedule:

Full-time | Varied shifts (mainly daylight & evenings + 8 or 12 hour shifts available) & alternating on weekends.

How You'll Contribute

A Lab Assistant who excels in this role:

• Performs department specific waived and moderately complex testing under the direct supervision of a General Supervisor. Apply technical knowledge and skills necessary to maintain procedural quality standards.
• Orders, process, test, issue, deliver, and discard products under the supervision of a General Supervisor.
• Responsible for the performance of routine computer operations including, but not limited to ordering laboratory tests, data input, and specimen receipt.
• Accurately identifies and labels specimens.
• Performs preventative maintenance, equipment maintenance, and daily temperature checks according to the section's procedural manual.
• Draws venous, arterial, capillary samples from patients according to phlebotomy procedures and age specific needs of the patient.
