Job summary

Eurofins USA Clinical Diagnostics in Centennial, CO is seeking a part-time Laboratory Assistant to support accessioning, specimen management and data entry with accuracy and speed.

Responsibilities include receiving shipments, examining samples, preparing aliquots for testing, operating routine lab equipment, maintaining QC records and safety compliance, and collaborating with other lab staff. Schedule Tue-Sat 10:00am-2:00pm; Compensation $19.00-$20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable with raw specimen handling.
• Ability to read, interpret, and comply with SOPs, operating and maintenance instructions, and company policies.
• 1 year data entry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls from clients and aid callers when necessary.
• Examine samples for accuracy (type, volume, etc.).
• Contact client to resolve sample/testing issues or discrepancies.
• Complete correction requests as needed.
• Operate front-end processing automation equipment as assigned by management.
• Accession samples and deliver them to proper area(s).
• Sample aliquot/preparation for testing.
• Instrument setup and preparation for testing.
• Maintain temperature logs, instrument maintenance and recording.
• Retrieve and re-file samples for testing.
• Properly store specimens for short- and long-term storage.
• Aid laboratory personnel in cleaning duties.
• Maintain quality control and QA records as required.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Job Description

The Laboratory Assistant is primarily responsible for performing duties related to accessioning, specimen

management, problem resolution, and data entry and specimen storage with a high degree of

proficiency.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Receive incoming shipments and document appropriately
• Answer the phones from clients and customers and aiding to callers when necessary
• Examine samples for accuracy and other requirements (sample type, volume, etc.)
• Contact client to resolve sample and/or testing related issues or discrepancies
• Complete correction requests as needed
• Operation of the front end processing automation equipment as assigned by management
• Accession samples and deliver them to proper area(s)
• Sample Aliquot/preparation for testing
• Instrument set up and preparation for testing
• Perform Temperature log, instrument maintenance and recording
• Retrieve and re-file samples for testing
• Properly store specimens for short term and long term storage
• Aid laboratory personnel in cleaning duties
• Maintain quality control and quality assurance records as required
• Adhere to all quality and safety standards, as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable
• regulatory agencies
• Adhere to policies and protocols in the laboratory
• Work closely and communicate with other lab associates to complete daily activities efficiently
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent required

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred
• Must be comfortable with raw specimen handling
• Ability to read, interpret, and comply with documents such as internal SOPs, operating and
• maintenance instructions, and company policies
• Intermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs, with database skills and 1
• year data entry experience preferred
