Monday - Friday: Weekend RotationsWe are seeking a temporary Animal Care Technician to join our dynamic team! This position will focus on overall animal care and welfare, production and selection for customer orders, facility upkeep and recordkeeping and procedural duties. The person in this role will need to feel passionate about working with animals, enjoy and excel at organization, and support and maintain a clean, safe and compliant working environment. We are seeking someone that is hardworking, shows attention to detail, takes initiative, has a teamwork mentality and positive attitude.ResponsibilitiesPrimary ways the Animal Care Technician will contribute to the team:Basic animal husbandry:Cage cleaningRoom and barrier sanitationPreparation and handling of cleaners and disinfectants within the facilityReceiving barrier shipping boxes and materials on the inside of the facilityProficient in handling and the restraint of rodentsPerform basic health assessment of rodentsAbility to sex rodentsAbility to calibrate digital scalesAbility to maintain pest management duties within the facilityFilling customer orders and final packaging proceduresOther duties as assignedQualificationsWe are looking for the following from the Animal Care Technician:Desire to work with and care for animals on a daily basisInterest in animal development and breedingContinuous effort toward contributing to a clean and safe working environmentAbility and willingness to complete paperwork as neededMust be available to work weekends/ holidays on a rotating basisWillingness to work overtime when neededThis position requires that the Animal Care Technician be able to:Lift up to 50lbs on occasionStand/walk on concrete for at least 2 hours at a timeFrequently bend, reach, push, pull, squat and liftEnglish communication – reading, writing and oral*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
