Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Miami, FL seeks a Laboratory Analyst (Asbestos) to learn core lab practices and perform asbestos analyses using PLM, PCM, and TEM. No lab experience required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities include sample prep, data entry into LIMS, report generation, and basic equipment maintenance. Candidates should be able to work independently or in a team with strong time management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geology or related science is required.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.
• Light microscopy training preferred.
• Laboratory experience in academic or commercial setting is a plus.
• 0–1 year of asbestos PLM/TEM/PCM analysis experience is desirable.
• Ability to distinguish colors for analysis.
• Able to work independently and in a team; self-motivated and adaptable.
• Good time management and organizational skills; able to multi-task with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze bulk and solid materials for asbestos content using PLM/PCM/TEM.
• Determine visual percentage and optical properties of asbestos and non-asbestos materials.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into LIMS.
• Perform administrative duties including login, data entry, and report emailing.

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Asbestos) in Miami, FL. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures.
