Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking a Laboratory Aide to support specimen processing, accessioning, and transport across multiple campus sites in Allentown and surrounding areas. The role includes assisting pathologists with procedures and ensuring accurate processing and timely laboratory operations.

The position requires a high school diploma, with phlebotomy certification preferred. Training is provided on-site, and shifts may include days, evenings, nights, or per diem per unit

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Phlebotomy certification or completion of phlebotomy program preferred.
• On-site training provided during orientation (2 weeks).

Responsibilities

• Assist pathologist with biopsies and bone marrow specimens; prepare and stain slides; enter cases in the computer system.
• Accession and transport specimens to testing areas or reference labs.
• Perform maintenance checks and QA on lab equipment under supervision.
• Conduct moderate complexity testing under supervision.
