Job summary

Wayfair is seeking a Workflow Controller for our McDonough, GA site to drive staffing, planning, and KPI-driven performance. You will build daily operating plans, monitor variances, and coordinate with network planning to align with mid-term volume projections.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in distribution or manufacturing, strong analytical skills, and experience with capacity planning, Lean/Six Sigma, and data visualization.

• Experience with capacity planning or industrial engineering focused on operations flow and labor management.
• Proficiency with Google Suite, data visualization tools, and basic SQL/GBQ.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field or equivalent.
• Six Sigma/Lean knowledge and applications.

Responsibilities

• Create daily operating plans and resolve variances between plan, actuals, and goals.
• Monitor plans and in-process backlogs to understand impacts of future planning.
• Contribute to mid-long term shift planning to align staffing with projections.
• Coordinate with site operations and central planning to forecast demand.
• Analyze daily/weekly/monthly site performance via KPIs (Service Level Commitments).
• Engage at shift level in real time to adjust the daily operations plan.
• Facilitate problem solving when goals are not met using current inputs.
• Support site operations by optimizing staffing for the daily plan.
• Build strong relationships with site operations to ensure data visibility and execution.
• Collaborate with Network Planning and Process Excellence to drive improvements.

Job description

Location: McDonough, GA | Job Type: Full Time | Shift: Day Shift | Annual Base Pay: $100-110k

The above base pay range may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. The range listed is just one component of Wayfair's total compensation package for employees. Depending on the position offered, equity, bonuses, commissions and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a comprehensive suite of medical, financial and additional benefits.

The Workflow Controller plays a vital role in staffing, planning, and achieving site specific goals across Wayfair's Fulfillment Network. They work to ensure the accurate, timely, and cost efficient processing of the perfect order to our customers.

What You'll Do

• You will create daily operating plans for a site and resolve variances between plan, actuals, and goals. Responsible for building plans at this cadence to align with Site Director and network priorities.
• You will monitor plans and work in process backlogs to consider impacts of future planning and staffing
• You will provide input to strategic shift planning at the site to ensure the building is staffed according to mid-long term volume projections
• Coordinate with local site operations and central planning teams to analyze historical data and forecast demand for that site
• Manage and interpret the analyses of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of site performance via Key Performance Indicators (Service Level Commitments)
• You will be able to engage at shift level, in real time to make proactive changes to support execution of the daily operations plan
• You will be responsible for facilitating problem solving efforts when goals are not met based on current inputs to daily plan - i.e. Attrition, Absenteeism, Productivity
• You will support site operations team by optimizing staffing requirements for the site specific daily plan
• You will build a strong relationship with the site operations team to ensure proper execution of the daily level capacity / throughput plan through education in visibility to data and constant communication
• Work in close collaboration with Network Planning, Field Industrial Engineering, Process Definition and Standards Excellence to enable performance management improvements

What You'll Need

• 3+ years operational experience in distribution or manufacturing.
• Able to guide and influence peers and leaders across levels and organization. Disseminate information effectively.
• Capacity Planning experience or Industrial Engineering background focused on operations flow and labor management
• Technical aptitude in multiple systems; understanding of Google Suite, Data Visualization platforms, basic SQL/GBQ.
• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (engineering, economics, math, and statistics), business or equivalent
• Basic and working knowledge of Six Sigma tools and Lean techniques; process focused, organized and able to assess change management requirements
• Strong understanding in the use of technical/statistical tools to drive process improvements
