Job summary

Balch- is seeking a Labor & Employment Paralegal to provide comprehensive legal and administrative support to attorneys handling labor and employment matters. The role includes managing case files, monitoring dockets, coordinating with responsible attorneys, and preparing legal documents while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

The paralegal may be based in Birmingham, AL or Jackson, MS and will work with attorneys from both offices.

Qualifications

3–5 years of labor and employment litigation experience or general litigation experience.
Proficient with Excel and eDiscovery tools Relativity and DISCO.
Experience supporting multiple attorneys in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of federal and state court filing requirements.
Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in all phases of employment litigation in federal and state courts.
Prepare pleadings, motions, exhibits, and supporting documentation for filing.
Monitor court rules and electronic filing requirements.
Conduct factual investigations using public information.
Draft Rule 26(a) disclosures and 1006 summaries.
Coordinate discovery, subpoenas, and document production.
Maintain case calendars and deadlines and communicate status to attorneys.
Prepare deposition notebooks and witness materials.
Coordinate trial logistics and exhibit management.
Maintain confidential client information.
