Job summary

Our Client, a leading international law firm, seeks an experienced Labor & Employment Counsel to join its Labor & Employment Practice Group in Los Angeles or San Francisco. This senior role requires ownership of significant litigation matters, supervising junior attorneys, and advising employers on employment risk and compliance.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school (strong academic record).
• Active California Bar admission in good standing.
• 10+ years of employment litigation practice.
• Experience handling single-plaintiff matters and wage-hour class actions.
• Ability to independently manage a full litigation caseload from inception to resolution.
• Demonstrated leadership, including mentoring and supervising associates and staff.
• Significant deposition, courtroom, hearing, and motion practice experience.
• Strong case management, strategic planning, and project management abilities.
• Familiarity with employment counseling and preventative workplace advice is preferred.
• Strong business development aptitude and relationship management skills.
• Excellent written advocacy, oral communication, and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of employment litigation in state and federal courts.
• Serve as lead or day-to-day case manager on sophisticated employment disputes.
• Develop litigation strategy and oversee case execution through resolution.
• Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and handle court appearances and hearings.
• Supervise associates, paralegals, and other litigation team members.
• Act as primary point of contact for clients and provide strategic guidance on employment-related matters.
• Advise employers on risk management, workplace compliance, and developments in employment law.
• Collaborate with colleagues across practice groups to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
• Contribute to client development initiatives and growth of the practice.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior employment litigator to assume a leadership role within a sophisticated practice known for handling complex workplace disputes and providing strategic advice to employers.

The successful candidate will take ownership of significant litigation matters, supervise junior attorneys, advise clients on employment-related risks, and help grow a collaborative, high-performing practice serving a diverse client base.

Candidate Profile

• JD from an accredited law school with a strong academic record

• 10+ years of employment litigation practice
• Strong background handling single-plaintiff employment matters and wage and hour class actions

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive Salary: $350,000 - $450,000 annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location.
