Job summary

Jackson County Hospital District is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive maternal and neonatal care. The role requires delivering medications per patient needs, performing neonatal resuscitation when needed, and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team.

Candidates should hold a Florida RN license and BLS, with preferred NRP and Electronic Fetal Monitoring certifications. Prior L&D/NN nursery experience is valued, and ACLS is a plus.

Qualifications

• Current Florida RN licensure.
• BLS required.
• One+ year of Labor and Delivery/Newborn Nursery experience preferred.
• NRP certification within 1 year preferred.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring certification within 2 years preferred.
• ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medication administration tailored to patient age and condition.
• Assess neonate at delivery and perform neonatal resuscitation per guidelines.
• Perform head-to-toe assessment on infants and postpartum patients.
• Develop and revise an individualized care plan and evaluate daily response.
• Interpret fetal heart rate patterns and respond appropriately.
• Communicate clearly with the care team and physicians.
• Collaborate with other departments for interdisciplinary patient care.
• Assist physicians with procedures in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery.
• Maintain documentation to current standards; ensure psychosocial needs are addressed.
