St. Luke's Health - The Woodlands Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse on our Float/Flex Team to deliver compassionate, high-quality care while remaining reliable and positive in a fast-paced environment.

You will perform skilled assessments, implement patient care plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes for patients across units. Strong assessment and critical thinking are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing required.
• At least 1 year RN experience.
• RN: TX license upon hire.
• CPR certification within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide cost-effective, high-quality patient care.
• Performs ongoing assessment, diagnoses, plans interventions, and evaluates outcomes.
• Documents in patient and unit records per standards of care.
• Provides teaching to patients and families on pain management, nutrition, skin integrity, falls prevention and discharge instructions.
• Upholds patient safety, confidentiality, and ethical decision-making.
• Engages in research activities and collaborates with Outcomes managers.

• Utilizes the nursing process to ensure appropriate patient care is provided in a cost effective, quality driven, and patient focused manner. Collects pertinent social, psychological, developmental and spiritual data from the patient, significant others and other health care team members.




• Performs as ongoing assessment, formulates nursing diagnosis and goals, plans appropriate interventions, and evaluates the outcome of the interventions.




• Consistently documents in the patient and unit records according to written health system standards of care in order to meet legal and quality patient care requirements.




• Provides appropriate teaching and information to patients and families including information on Pain Management, Nutrition, Skin Integrity, Fall prevention, Diabetes, Disease Process, Smoking Cessation, and Discharge instructions




• Demonstrates commitment to the goals and values of the patient, Hospital, community and nursing profession through cost containment measures, maintaining confidentiality, appropriate ethical decision-making, and ensuring patient safety.




• Uses interventions substantiated by research as appropriate in the patient population, Participates in research activities, identifies opportunities for research, and collaborates with the Outcomes managers and department.

• Associate Degree in Nursing

The hospital has been recognized as a Best Hospital by U.S. News & World Report, and is proud to serve as the clinical home for the Dan L Duncan Cancer Center. The hospital was awarded an "A" hospital safety grade by The Leapfrog Group in both 2023 and 2025. Clinical services provided include cardiovascular services, diagnostic imaging, women's services (digital mammography and bone density studies), neurosciences, pediatric care (Newborn and Level III nurseries), surgery, pathology and pulmonary services, and sleep disorder services.

Pay Range

$42.00 - $42.00 /hour
