Verrus, LLC in New York, NY is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Associate to strengthen its national employment practice. The role offers exposure to sophisticated litigation, workplace advisory matters, and a diverse client base, including major corporations and national employers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Labor & Employment experience.
• Background in management-side employment litigation welcomed.
• Experience at national, regional, or specialist Labor & Employment firms.
• Strong drafting, analytical and client-facing skills.

Responsabilités

• Represent employers in federal and state employment litigation, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful termination claims.
• Manage substantive litigation matters: pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions, trial prep.
• Handle wage/hour disputes, restrictive covenants, and other employment-related claims.
• Advise employers on workplace policies, compliance, employee relations and risk.
• Collaborate with clients and colleagues across the firm.

The Role

Responsibilities will include a combination of:

• Representing employers in federal and state employment litigation, including discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful termination claims.
• Managing substantive litigation matters, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motions and trial preparation.
• Handling wage and hour disputes, restrictive covenant matters and other complex employment-related claims.
• Advising employers on workplace policies, compliance, employee relations and employment risk.
• Working directly with clients and collaborating with colleagues across the firm's broader practice.

Candidate Profile

The firm is particularly interested in attorneys with:

• 3+ years of Labor & Employment experience.
• A background in management-side employment litigation, with additional counseling experience welcomed.
• Experience gained within a national, regional or specialist Labor & Employment law firm.
• Strong drafting, analytical and client-facing skills.
• Admission to practise in a relevant US jurisdiction.

Attorneys with predominantly litigation-focused backgrounds are encouraged to apply; extensive experience across every area of Labor & Employment is not required.
