Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Labor and Delivery Travel RN to provide comprehensive care in the L&D setting. You will apply nursing processes, monitor mothers during the final stages of pregnancy, educate patients, and coordinate care with the healthcare team to ensure safe deliveries.

The role emphasizes clinical judgment, accountability, and adherence to nursing standards while enjoying travel assignments across healthcare facilities.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience in the last 3 years preferred.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB Questionnaire/PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate as required by contract or state regulation.
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Apply nursing process and deliver patient care in L&D.
• Monitor Mother’s vital signs and manage labor in final stages.
• Educate patients and address psychosocial needs post-delivery.
• Coordinate patient care and supervise others as applicable.

Job description

The Labor and Delivery nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in the L&D Setting. The Labor and Delivery nurse demonstrates the ability to make clinical judgments in an effective and efficient manner with supervision.

The labor and delivery nurse works with Mothers during the final stages of pregnancy helping with birthing, monitoring the Mother’s vital signs, and becoming astute in signs and symptoms of possible complications. The labor and delivery nurse is involved in patient education and addressing the psychosocial needs of Mothers after delivery and demonstrates critical thinking and performance ability in the coordination of patient care. Consistently performs according to nursing standards and is accountable in managing patient care and assisting others in the management of patient care.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse license within the state of practice.?
• One year of Labor and Delivery clinical experience within the last three years preferred.?
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
