Simmons Pet Food in Dubuque, IA is looking for a Production Labeler to ensure labels meet schedule requirements and to load and verify label materials.

You will operate labeling equipment, maintain accuracy with can codes, and participate in team efforts to uphold BEST practices and quality standards. A High School diploma and basic math skills are required, with reading/writing English proficiency emphasized. The shift is D schedule with no travel.

• Ensure product labels meet production schedule specifications.

• Maintain machine speeds and record downtime.
• Participate as a team member and follow BEST practices; attend team meetings.
• Follow Simmons operating systems and contribute improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties to support business objectives.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; stand for full shift; use PPE.

D Shift Schedule

Wednesday 1150 pm - 6 pm and Thursday/Friday/Saturday 550 am - 6 pm

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Ensures product labels meet production schedule specifications. Manages label materials and verifies all product labeling is correct with customer orders.

Loads labels into the machine. Records information from label boxes. Ensures label matches code on the can.

Adjusts machine for label alignment and glue adhesion. Able to do changeovers. Able to maintain machines speeds. Records downtime.

Participates as a member of the Team.Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Simmons Operating systems principles and objectives:Is familiar with Simmons' established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies); understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position's role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.

Physical Activities:Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Standing on feet for an entire shift and use grasping motion with hands.
