Job summary

Avery Dennison Corporation in the United States is hiring a Label Machinist for A-Shift, Sun–Tue 7:45 AM–8 PM, Wed 7:45 AM–2 PM. You will operate label machinery to meet daily production schedules and minimize waste, while ensuring quality and safety standards.

Key duties include logging raw materials, using the ERP system for time and materials, performing routine machine maintenance, and keeping a clean, safe work area. High school diploma and 1–2 years related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1–2 years related experience and/or training.
• Strong mechanical skills to operate label machine equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates the label machines properly and efficiently to meet daily deadlines.
• Minimize waste or misuse of raw materials.
• Communicates label production issues with the Supervisor/Facility Manager.
• Performs distribution functions as needed.
• Keeps logs of raw materials used and maintains FIFO inventory.
• Uses the ERP system to log time and materials for each job.
• Responsible for maintenance of all dies.
• Maintains a clean, organized, safe work area with required PPE.
• May work overtime or on another shift as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Regular attendance is essential.
• Compliance with company drug-free workplace policy.
• Compliance with all company safety policies.

Job Description

This role will be on A-Shift, Sun-Tues 7:45AM-8PM, Wed 7:45AM-2PM.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Operates the label machines properly and efficiently in order to meet production deadlines according to the daily job schedule.
• Minimize waste or misuse of raw materials.
• Communicates label production issues with the Production Supervisor and/or Facility Manager
• Performs distribution functions as needed.
• Keeps accurate log of raw materials used in the production of labels. Logs date and ID number of cartons of product to maintain a FIFO inventory and to identify any QC problems with raw materials.
• Uses ERP system to log time and materials for each job.
• Responsible for maintenance of all dies.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area, uses required PPE, and follows all safety rules and procedures.
• May be required to work overtime or on another shift as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Compliance with applicable Company policies concerning maintaining a drug free workplace is required.
• Compliance with all Company policies is required including all safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Physical Demands

Stands 2/3 to full time on the shift daily.

Uses hands and fingers to handle, and feel 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily.

Reaches with hands and arms 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily.

Lifts 50 pounds 1/3 to 2/3 of the shift daily.

Requires close vision (clear vision at 20-inches or less).

Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors).

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Must have one to two years related experience and/or training.

Must have strong mechanical skills to analyze and operate label machine equipment.
