Northwell Health is seeking a qualified Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform routine and complex laboratory procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting. The role requires a NYS license and a Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field, with at least one year of lab experience.

Responsibilities include specimen preparation, reporting results, routine QC/QA, equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, while maintaining infection control practices and adequate supply levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science or related field.
• Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Minimum of one year of work experience and/or training in the laboratory area.

• Prepares and tests specimens for examination and reports results.
• Follows established in-process quality control procedures including recording data.
• Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoots basic instrumentation, culture media, chemicals, reagents, stains, solutions, technical problems and methodologies.
• Maintains sufficient supplies at work station.
• Ensures and maintains quality control and assurance activities.
• Uses Infection Control practices and procedures.
• Performs related duties, as required.

Job Description

Performs clinical laboratory procedures, examinations and other tests pursuant to established protocols including maintaining equipment and records, and performing quality assurance activities related to examination performance requiring the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility.

Job Qualification

Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science or related field, required. Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (or as appropriate to area of assignment), required. Minimum of one (1) year work experience and/or training specific to the work being done in the area noted above, required.
